Benefits of Membership
The PROBUS Club of Belleville, Ontario, is an inclusive club allowing individuals in their retirement and semi-retirement years to enrich their lives through social engagement, friendship, and activities.
We cherish the values of friendship through a diverse range of activities that include monthly meetings, personalized member name badges, communal meals, special events, and interest groups. Check out our Interest Groups and Events pages to see other things that are happening, as well as regular meetings.
While attendance at our meetings is entirely optional, most members find these gatherings to be an enriching experience, offering invaluable opportunities to connect with fellow members and friends, fostering a sense of belonging, and camaraderie, as well as the opportunity to hear insightful and informative speakers.
The coffee, tea and cookies at meetings are also enjoyable.
What you need to know
We meet at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at 516 Victoria Ave. Belleville, Ontario, unless otherwise indicated on the events page.
As a non-profit, our club operates solely through the dedication of volunteer leaders.
PROBUS members are asked to not participate in fundraising or sales promotion activities while at PROBUS meetings or events.
The PROBUS Club of Belleville was chartered in 1993 as the 30th PROBUS Club.
Growth in PROBUS Canada (since 1987), has seen an expansion of 244 clubs across Canada from St. John's Newfoundland to Victoria, British Columbia, with a membership of over 36,000.
How to become a member
Please attend two PROBUS Meetings prior to applying for membership. A new member must be sponsored by a current member of the club, and must be approved by the Management Committee.
Once accepted, an annual membership fee of $60.00 per member should be paid before or at the time, of initiation.
All members must agree to the PROBUS Constitution and Bylaws.
Each new member shall be presented with a name badge.
